NICHIREN SHOSHU ![]() Nichiren Shoshu is a Buddhist religion, founded more than 750 years ago in Japan, precisely on April 28, 1253, by Nichiren Daishonin. It has been present in Brazil since the 1960s, brought by Japanese immigrants. It has more than 700 temples in various locations in Japan, including the Taisekiji Main Temple, as well as temples and propagation centers in various countries such as Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Indonesia, France, Taiwan and Ghana. In Brazil, it has the Kaidosan Shoboji Temple, in São Paulo, in the Saúde district, Angra dos Reis Temple in Rio de Janeiro and several propagation centers. More than 1 million people in 40 different countries are adherents of Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism. In Brazil there are about 3,500 practitioners. |
